This small museum, inaugurated in 1986 in a former colonial palace, offers a panorama of African history and culture. You will see different collections from 26 African countries, including the important Afro-Cuban collection of the prestigious researcher and ethnologist Fernando Ortíz, and Fidel Castro's personal African collection, composed of souvenirs and gifts given to him by African leaders. The Casa de África is also a study center where researchers, ethnologists, linguists and historians work.
