Every year in Guanabacoa (Havana), this festival explores the African roots of the Cuban people, their arts and traditions!
At the end of November in Guanabacoa, 12 km east of Havana, the Wemilere African Roots Festival takes place. This event focuses on folkloric traditions (mainly music and dance) and traditional African arts, which allows for a better understanding of the influence of African culture in the Cuban universe. It should be noted that prestigious artists were born in Cuba, such as Ernesto Lecuona, Rita Montaner and Bola de Nieve.
