Fido Dido is a restaurant where you can mingle with Kampalans over Ugandan specialities or ice cream (ice cream is closely linked to the establishment and has forged its reputation on Kampala Road), although some deplore a certain sloppiness in the quality of the food and an atmosphere that is no longer what it once was. Prices are modest, there are a few concerts to liven up the place, and you're rarely disappointed when you want a snack on the go in Old Kampala!
