The Roots is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Kampala for those who wish to discover the culinary wealth of Uganda. Under the umbrellas (which sometimes become umbrellas...) that cover the garden, the friendly staff of this establishment will serve you vegetarian dishes such as malewa (a speciality from the east of the country made from bamboo shoots), meat dishes such as mlokony (stewed calf's feet) and great classics such as goat luwombo and rolex.
