A well-known old hotel in the city centre. Comfortable rooms with a rather old-fashioned decoration. The latter, whether they overlook the charmless patio - where the swimming pool and its bar are located - or the street, are a bit noisy. All the services of a large hotel including an airport shuttle service and wifi access. The prices are still quite expensive compared to the quality of the establishment. The Grand Imperial also has exchange offices and a terrace restaurant where concerts are held every evening.

A very beautiful place

Grand Imperial Hotel is perfectly located for visitors who are coming into Kampala, who want to have access to the city centre, downtown and the affluent Nakasero Hill and it's sorroundings. It's a 1923 hotel built by the Imperialists with large rooms, a shopping mall mainly focussing on apparel on the ground floor overlooking Bank of Uganda. Next to it is East African Development Bank. Several Forex bureau exist including Shumuk Forex bureau on its main entrance and business centres on the first and second floor. There are salons and barbershops on the ground floor and first floor. It has probably the largest parking area in town. Well manned and secure. Cost effective room and restaurant pricing. Has live Congolaise music from Friday through to Sunday.
