Beautiful guesthouse with a few wooden terraces, raised and decorated with swing chairs, and a garden.

This beautiful guest house is unlike any other in the city: as soon as you step through the door in the shadow of the beautiful facade of this former shotgun house, you feel right at home. The six housing units are furnished with a variety of stylish furniture and have all the necessary amenities. And what about the garden with its lush plants and delicate flowers, surrounding the few raised wooden terraces with swing chairs? A gay friendly address where you are welcomed as friends.

Love this place! Unique, witchingly charming accommodations within walking distance of the Quarter, and Frenchman St. Convenient, reasonably priced, and the owners are responsive and accommodating. 100/100 would recommend!

Fabulous NOLA experience. We booked the whole inn for a big family birthday celebration. Michelle was wonderful helping us with logistics since we arrived at separate times. The house is spacious and has a great layout. Beds & linens are super comfy. It was a luxury not having to worry about coffee & breakfast in the morning – Michelle & Bob had it all set up for us. The shrimp & grits was a delicious highlight. The French Quarter is a gentle walk away through tree-lined streets. Hanging out on the veranda with an icy cold glass of wine, or playing poker on the refectory table, or cooling off in the pool – the inn hit every mark for a perfect venue. Our family wants to make this an annual trip and of course we would return to the Elysian Fields Inn. Thank you Michelle & Bob.

I've slept in every room and each one is so comfortable and so unique. Also great walking distance to everything in the French Quarter (only a block from Frenchman St!)

We just returned from 2 weeks at Elysian Fields Inn. We stayed in the suite room. This was our third visit to EFI and the first since Michelle and Bob have been the innkeepers. The short answer is “book it.” Here are a few more details. Bob and Michelle have made some terrific improvements to EFI. One is a refreshing pool and patio in back. After a long day of walking around NOLA a cool dip in the pool and a nap in the lounge chairs are essential preparation for a night of food and music on the town. We loved the new long communal table which encourages conversation among the worldwide guests. There are several 2 toppers if you prefer though. For us, the innkeepers make the inn and you can’t ask for any better than Michelle and Bob. They clearly love meeting new people, welcoming visitors to the city they chose, and exceeding all expectations. Their breakfasts are “not” continental, but full breakfasts with fresh fruit every day. In 2 weeks we had only one repeat. They are accommodating, too, for those who may be picky or have food restrictions. EFI is in a safe neighborhood. We walked home from the French Quarter every night. The location is perfect if you want easy access to the Quarter, Frenchman Street or the bustling neighborhoods of Marigny and Bywater. We go to New Orleans every year and typically drive there or use Uber/Lyft around town. This year we purchased an RTA pass and had a great time exploring. We used the street cars, buses and even the RTA ferry over to Algiers. (Check out Barracuda Mexican cafe.) EFI is conveniently located for public transportation and will be even better when they get the Rampart Street car line open again. Enjoy your visit to our favorite U.S. city and rest easy if you decide to stay at Elysian Fields Inn.

We loved the location (close to cafés, jazz clubs and restaurants, and with a supermarket just across the street). Our bedroom was on the smaller size (e.g., it could use a second chair) and the bathroom was definitively vintage. This is not an issue in itself because it was clean, but the showerhead was spraying everywhere and it is problematic if you do not want to wash your hair. Also, it did have an aveda product, but unfortunately it had been partly used by someone else.

The breakfast was good, and the living area is spacious and nice. We understand the back patio cannot be accessible 24/7 because of noise-related issues, but because it closes at 8pm, we could not enjoy it.
