Small restaurant with delicious food and a very large beer menu. They serve a large variety of beers, and a lot of them come from Belgium.

Cozy on a rainy day. Enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and brussels

The vibes are weird with the servers here, and the beer is extremely hit-or-miss: one of their sours was great, but an amber ale was tasteless. Food was mid

After months of wanting to try this place, I finally had the chance to visit. I had a friend visiting from Kentucky and suggested we try this restaurant and bar.

We walked in today on a rainy day, and the place was pretty empty. Some people sitting at the bar, and a party of two sitting in the restaurant side. The sign stated to ‘wait for the host to be seated’ and for 5 minutes without acknowledgement, even with the short lady bartender making eye-contact with us, and us being the only two people waiting to be seated— the same short bartender lady finally then says ‘hi’ and we ask if we can ‘dine-in’. She then said, ‘sure, take a seat near the window’ in which we thought was the booth near the window. She then raised her voice and stated ‘NO, THAT OTHER TABLE’ (and I am not being dramatic either, she literally raised her voice at us).

Both my friend who is visiting from Kentucky and I are both Managers in the Restaurant industry- and we both just looked at each other in disbelief after this lady spoke to us in the way that she did. We discussed whether or not we still wanted to dine-in… we decided, absolutely not.

I am very disappointed in the unprofessionalism demonstrated by this lady bartender, the unwelcoming attitude, and this overall experience.

With the many selection of restaurants and bars cascaded throughout our beautiful city, the last thing a customer deserves is to feel unwelcome and to be spoken to in a rude way. The bartender needs to check her attitude because it really is not acceptable and a shame. First impressions are everything, especially in our industry.

Update: Christian the owner is committed to excellence in customer service and ensuring the guest has the best overall experience. Will definitely want to return to check out the place in person.

We made a detour on the way to our air bnb in order to drop in at the Monk's Kettle. This was my first trip to this part of SF, but my friend had come several times over the years and decided we needed a burger and beer. Nice outside Patio - a favorite on a decent day to be outside, great food, and a good craft beer selection, including Pliny the Elder. Garlicy cheesy fries were delicious as was the burger..

Delicious beer and drinks. However the food is not what it once was. We had a burger (fries are not included) and Mac and cheese. Also there is a 8.5% add-on charge to cover Employee Benefits.

I had the original hamburger and fried chicken sandwich, they tasted normal, not disgusting but not great. The garlic fries were good but they weren’t warm when served. Considering the price (18 with no sides), I prefer to just eat at In-N-Out or chickfilla. The atmosphere is nice though, I’d come back just for drinks.

A delicious spot for an american style dinner with great beer options. Me and my friend both had the burger with a shared order of the fried brussels and we ate every single bite. The burger was a bit pricey but worth it, and we wish we had the recipe for the brussels.

Good food and service. Nice little hole in the wall.

This place never fails for food and beer. It has been consistently good since it first opened. The burgers, fries and especially appetizers are fit for a beer / pub like joint!

If you are visiting and thinking about coming here save your time not worth it at all, beyond basic. Just continue to walk down the street and find something else, you won’t be sorry.

One of my favorite spots to hang out and grab a beer. Love their beer selection here; they always have a great selection of sour beers and really unique stuff. They also have some of the best brussel sprouts I've ever had and highly recommend getting them if you come here.

Dropped by this place earliest this week with my friend who’s also been visiting this place for years. It’s so amazing how it still has not missed a beat. The wings are still some of my favorite, if not my favorite in town, and certainly my favorite in the neighborhood by a long shot.
