One of the first open gay restaurants, Harvey's opened in the 1970 s under the name of Elephant Walk. As the community grows, Elephant Walk becomes the meeting place for gays in the neighborhood. In the aftermath of the riots against the souple verdict of Harvey Milk's murderer, the Elephant Walk is destroyed by angry policemen. Rebuilt, it burns in the 1990 s and reappears under the current name, in homage to the great man that was Harvey Milk. To see and be seen, you have to sit beside the big windows and order a huge sandwich or a salad. Very good brunches on weekends.

De passage à San Francisco, je me suis arrêté chez Harvey's. Leur accueil m'a vraiment plu. Souriant et plaisant.
