This eatery is below the typical chinatown places that I would recommend. There are so many other places to try.

We ordered the curry chicken, broccoli, white rice and potstickers. You can tell it is a family owned restaurant. The food was great and the service was average. If I am ever back in San Francisco, I will be coming back.

Updated my review because the second time quality was not the same. Beef with string beans has very little beef (all put on top) and string beans were overcooked

---
The food was delicious with big portion. The service was quick and friendly.
- beef with string beans in black bean sauce surpassed my expectations. Beef was really tender, green bean was crunchy.
- mu shu pork was pretty good

Underground restaurant in Chinatown. This restaurant has been around for a while. To get in, you need to go down from street level. Inside is typical chinese restaurant. It has plenty of tables. Looks like mostly local eat here. The menu is overwhelming. Many to be chosen from. Price is reasonable. We order braised beef claypot, stir fry chinese cauliflower, and bedf chow fun. All came up quickly, and the portion is generous. The food tasted good. This place accepts credit cards. Will come back again.

Food was good and service is okay. We asked for some water and I just saw the waitress fill the plastic cups with faucet water, which grossed me out. Restrooms were upstairs and needs updating (at least the ladies room did).

Good food, Apparently lots of China Town locals which means the served food is rather authentic. The interior is kind of anti-fancy.

Down the stairs to a basement level, an oldie & sometimes 4gotten GEM … u can always count on CHEF HUNG 823 Clay for a delish & satisfying comforting meal CLAYPOT RICE. Steamed Eggs, Vermicelli with Melon, Claypot Braised Lamb & tofu , Tong yuan

The food there was ok but pork tasted and looked kinda old.. I had salt and pepper pork chops with pork fried rice and the pork was gray.. the service was nice but I think I'll pass on revisiting this place

This was excellent. Don't worry about the "atmosphere", the food is authentic and very very good. Skip the upscale places and go where the Chinese people eat. Service was good as well. Highly recommended.

The food was bad. There was a toothpick in it.

Das Essen ist prima, die Bedienung flink.
Der Raum im Keller ist eher nüchtern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet.

Best Chinese food I've ever had in my life! I hope my travel plans bring me back here in Chinatown again, I will definitely be back!

Locale orribile ma cibo buono. Porzioni giganti, un piatto basta per due persone. Prezzi molto abbordabili.

Glad that they serve Pepsi!

I was told they were closed at 8:30 PM, but it is posted above the entry door that they close at 9:00 PM. I know restaurants may close if business is slow, but at least update your posted hours.

When we visited there were 3 large tables full of Chinese Customers- always a good sign if the locals eat there! Basic decor, but excellent, plentiful food. Definitely recommend for genuine authentic Chinese food.

Sad to see that it lost it’s original dignity. It used to be one of my favorites in Chinatown. Now the food is not as good, the price also increased considerably. The eggplants clay pot which is one of the signature Cantonese dishes is below average, wanton soup is ok for the first bite, and then a funny stinky meat taste comes out, only the beef and radish stew is ok. And they include 18% tip automatically to the bill. I suggest people going to other places that are still standing.

Dont go by any fake reviews. Pathetic food and then the staff will force you to TIP

Friendly Personal , Price was okay. But the Chicken wasn’t cooked properly so we could not eat it. Wouldn’t come back.

Amazing. Portions were huge. Wife and I shared a tofu and pork dish. The tofu melts in your mouth literally. I have never had anything like it. 3 entrees with 2 sodas for the kids was about $50. To find the place, you walk downstairs from the sidewalk.

I ate here last night and ordered the wonton soup (pork meat only), salt and pepper shrimp, and the combination clay pot. Wonton was a bit of a let down, but other two entrees were excellent, good flavor and portions. Service was a bit slow, enough though I was the only customer. Considering this is SF, I think you get excellent value for your money, but I don't agree with other comments about the cleanliness of the place. It's no worse or better than an average Olive Garden, though you could hear the staff chatting away in their corner. I would definitely come back again.

Portions are too big. Staff ran after me to ask for tip which i didn't think their service and food quality deserved

Une adresse que je tiens à recommander vivement aux San-Franciscains. La cuisine y est exquise.
