In the corner left facing the location, there’s a little hidden bar. I recommend you go there while you wait is great. I’ve had their takeout as well, but there’s nothing like being there in person.
Original review: Indoor dining on 3/17/2021. Wow! Finally, a Japanese owned ramen restaurant in Japantown. Marufuku Ramen has six tables for Covid indoor dining. The wait time for me was about 35 mins at 5:45pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the chashu rice bowl $5 and the tonkotsu DX ramen $18.50. As someone who ate hundreds of bowls of ramen in Japan, this place is not bad. Their broth and noodles tastes a lot like Ichiran ramen's, which is not a bad thing. It is like Marufuku copied Ichiran's recipes. The broth, thin soft noodles, soft boiled egg, the tiny two pieces of chashu were all authentic. The chef and the Thai waitstaff were extremely fast. I will definitely come back (if they have more tables and shorter wait times.) Great job everyone at Marukuku.
The ramen came with chashu, a soft-boiled egg, green onions, kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts, and pickled ginger. Since I got the deluxe, they added corn, a thick slab of pork belly, and nori (seaweed). The tonkotsu broth was very creamy but not too sweet or salty. The chashu was delicious, and so was the egg. The thick pork belly was good, too, but I liked the thin chashu better. It's probably better to get the normal tonkatsu ramen unless you love corn.
The Sapporo was delicious.
The kae-dama noodles were hot and fresh. I recommend asking for kae-dama after you finish your original noodles, whereas my kae-dama was cold and stuck together by the time I put them into the broth.
As I ate, 4 people came by within 10 min, asking how everything was, grabbing empty dishes and trash.
Total price with mandate, tax, and 20% tip came out to $39.05.
Good food, great service, love the atmosphere.
The Atmosphere was cool too, I loved the ambience and the lighting was relaxing.
The only compliant I had is that the spicy isn't spicy at all but that's ok, I should have gone with ultra spicy lol
I will definitely return later ^^
My friend and I were eating, chatting, enjoying our delicious food when we saw a mouse run across the restaurant. We sat there in disbelief and let our waitress know she said “I will let the manager know” then she tried to rush us out of the restaurant by hanging us the toast machine to pay.
