A magnificent gastronomic stopover in Vietnam at this two-storey restaurant with outdoor patio. Dine on the first floor, in the large, tropical dining room, then head upstairs for a cocktail at the bar, where you can listen to guest jazz players on certain evenings. On the menu, a fine selection of dishes blending Vietnamese and French inspirations. Specialties include swordfish stew with green bananas and rack of lamb with curry. A real delight. On the other hand, the bill is rather salty.

Walked in, smelt like a fish market. Was immediately turned off! I go to the Houston location all the time, the menu here just didn't have much options. Service was decent.

Everything was just simply wonderful. Very unique atmosphere, especially for San Francisco. Every single plate we got was just amazing. The lychee martinis are the best that I have had in the San Francisco area.

Le Colonial is an absolute throwback to eras of subtle elegance and charm. The interior is a Casa Blanca esque feel, with rattan, beautiful tile, and tropical plants.

The service was impeccable, and every suggestion was on point. Our waiter was friendly and really made our experience effortless and enjoyable. My guests were going to the Masonic for a show after dinner, and they made sure to course everything in an efficient manner so we didn't have to worry about any time crunch.

The food itself was a treasure. I was amazed by the subtle and rich flavors of the food, and everything was executed beautifully.

Honorable mentions include the Chilean bass, which was prepared in banana leaves and finished in a coconut milk sauce with glass noodles, the roasted Portabello Spring Rolls, Braised Pork Shoulder and Mustard Greens, and the tropical tequila and passion fruit drink.

All in all, a phenomenal experience. My guests and I will be back.

Chef changed post covid. Ordered the banana leaf wrapped steamed sea bass with coconut sauce and glass noodles. Highly recommended! Service was excellent. Not busy if you go early. Good place to eat alone when traveling.
Floors need updating.
