More than a restaurant, it's a concept. Sitting in the pretty courtyard for the evening session, you'll enjoy fine food while sneaking glimpses of auteur films (Fellini, for example) projected on the large raw concrete wall. If you choose to stop by before dark, you'll enjoy the room's concrete and fireplace decor, very post-industrial chic. On the menu, local oysters and fish served in a spicy sauce have a special place. A unique atmosphere.

If you can eat the atmosphere, this place might be a 4/5. But the food is really god awful. Appetizers were pretty decent but the mains were sorely lacking. The ribeye was one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had: poor sear and full of gristle, I’ve had better steak on a cruise ship / Mexican all inclusive resort. The mahi mahi was one sad looking piece of fish; looked it was yanked right out of the Oakland Estuary. Food is a solid 1/5.

We were grateful to get a table as a walk in group of 5, though it seems they seat the walkins in a separate room than the charming and cozy main outdoor area under the tarped ceiling… so our section felt a bit more like we were eating in a museum and it was quite white and bright, but the food, particularly the appetizers, was fantastic! Definitely recommend trying to get seated in the main area if you want the real foreign cinema charm :)

The staff here are a delight! No complaints there.
The food would have been great anywhere else but at just over $300 for two people it was fine. Good if you are rich, not worth the time if you only have the money to treat yourself a couple of times a year! Honestly expected better from a bay area staple.

Get the dessert. The “birthday cake” chocolate cake was the highlight of my dinner. I would give this review 5 stars if we’re basing it off the dessert! The cookie trio was wonderful as well.

The food was alright, I ordered the miso-yam and it could have had more flavour and depth to the dish.

and my cocktail was delicious!

We had a private reservation in the projection room for my friend's birthday party, which was fun, but of course the projector was very loud—but that's pretty much my only complaint. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch! It's very expensive but I think you actually get what you pay for, fully worth the experience.

I had the smoked salmon for my first course and I will be thinking about it for weeks, absolutely fantastic. For the main course I got the coconut cauliflower masala which was very good, though could have used either more rice or less sauce but otherwise delicious. The chevre cheesecake was incredible, highly recommended.
