Hotel with a kitschy design featuring rooms with musical instruments on the walls and balconies on the courtyard, overlooking the pool
A small hotel built in 1966 with a kitschy, rock'n'roll design reminiscent of Los Angeles. Rooms feature colorful bathtubs and musical instruments decorating the walls. They are each designed by a different Californian artist and feature courtyard balconies overlooking the pool, which is dotted with eccentric sculptures. In the evening, cocktails are served at Chambers, the hotel bar-restaurant favored by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam. The Tenderloin is, however, an unsafe neighborhood, and prices are high for the area.
