From the time we walked in the door to exiting the property to head home, we received excellent customer service and appreciation from the door men, housekeeping, front desk, restaurants, concierge, etc. The hospitality and assistance started before arrival; I called a few weeks prior to my stay to discuss my potential room and tours.

The hotel is in a great location, and the accommodations and staff are A+. A few snags but insignificant compared to the pros. I will stay at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental again.

Great historic hotel in a beautiful part of the city.

This is my wife's happy place. Great location on the top of Nob Hill, GREAT service, and the Top of the Mark is just a nice place to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy the view. Rooms are smallish, but nicely decorated and appointed. Just a grand old lady with a lot of history.

I have stayed in many Intercontinental hotels and unfortunately, my recent stay at the Mary Hopkins Hotel was quite disappointing in comparison. I am sure many years ago this would have been an-impressive hotel but it is now desperately in need of renovation. The room size was small. Additionally, my children were disappointed with the lack of facilities in the hotel. In the evening, the rooms were very hot, and the constant noises from either heating and plumbing made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. On several occasions, strangely, there were no staff members in the lobby. (I would like to say that the staff were very helpful and friendly when asked for help) I have mild asthma, which usually starts with dust, and i suffered across the 3 nights stay. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel until they address these issues and undergo a much-needed renovation.

Very old and historic Hotel in San Francisco! It is emaculant inside as they keep it like it was just built! Even has the old style turnstyle doors up front! Worth a visit even if your not staying there!

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and definitely went above and beyond to answer any questions and explain things when I asked. Breakfast was nice. It's in a good location; not too far from downtown, and fairly scenic and also quiet, which is good if you're a light sleeper. The gym was a bit small and limited, and I felt that the rooms were a bit dated, but there was nothing 'objectively' wrong with them - that's just a matter of taste.

Nice hotel for the money but I just ordered room service to get some hot tea to my room and was charged a $6 delivery fee on top of the charge for the tea itself. It wasn’t DoorDash, this was room service. That’s a tough look for a nice hotel. Not super classy

Loved our two night stay in this well kept gem! The most charming old building with comfy beds, good climate control for heat or fresh air from opening windows, surprisingly quiet from city noises, great views, rooftop bar, very pleasant restaurant and 99.9 of the staff are very warm and welcoming and interactive! I was even able to have my full size truck valet parked with no worries about break ins. Walk to trolly and many desirable places is not far. We love the guy at the rooftop bar with the beard. Wish I could remember his name and hope that everyone will have the opportunity to have him make them a cocktail someday!

The staff at the Mark Hopkins made our stay memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the bread and dips, steaks, octopus and numerous breakfast dishes. A wonderful 3 days with a stellar view. The cable cars stop right out front which made for fun visits to Chinatown. Clean, quiet rooms that were nicely appointed.

Breathtaking, beautiful rooms lobby & restaurant. Top of the Mark cocktail bar with awesome views of San Francisco - be sure to stroll around as it is spectacular to see the sites & everyone does walk around past all the tables - don't be shy! Staff friendly attentive knowledgeable and kind. Housekeeping marvelous remember to show your appreciation with a tip on your pillow - they work so hard to keep you comfortable.
Breakfast has multiple choices for everyone. Room service hot and fairly quick for such a large hotel. And front desk quick with menus & suggestions for delivery of pizza or other foods when you just want to be homey.
No attitudes with traveling outfits or business casual dress - we were treated as if we were in finest attire every time.
Doormen staff always prompt with car doors and assistance with front doors when I came up with my cane. But also for others arriving - always smiles welcoming you warmly inside.

Hilltop hotel with the perfect location for a classic San Francisco experience. Cable cars run right by down to the Embarcadero or Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown is around the corner, Grace Cathedral is a block away (though they charge admission post Covid - shouldn't have to pay to go in a church). The Top of the Mark, cocktail bar is not to be missed with its panoramic views of the city by the Bay. The entire hotel staff is great & courteous and was more than helpful. Thank you Ric, Sal & Mario.
