MARK HOPKINS INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL * * * *
The 19-story building, with the Top of The Mark, its panoramic room at the top, is one of the most beautiful hotels in the city.
In the 19th century, the summit of Nob Hill was home to some fabulous mansions, including the Mark Hopkins mansion, which burned down with the rest of the town in 1906. Here, an ambitious engineer decided to erect one of the city's grandest hotels in 1926. The princely décor in the lobby, with its imposing chandeliers and marble throughout, lives up to its lofty status. The rooms are spacious and the views fabulous. The 19-storey building has a panoramic bar at the top, the Top of The Mark.

The hotel is in a great location, and the accommodations and staff are A+. A few snags but insignificant compared to the pros. I will stay at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental again.
