THE QUEEN ANNE HOTEL * * *
Hotel with a family and friendly atmosphere offering rooms decorated differently from the colors in vogue at the time
This beautiful hotel in Pacific Heights is nestled in an impressive white and candy-pink Victorian house dating from 1890. First a girls' school, then a brothel and finally a women's refuge, its walls have a long history. Each room is decorated differently, furnished - even loaded - with antiques. You'll enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace and library to relax by the fire, with a cherry liqueur and cupcakes offered from 4pm to 6pm every day. Well placed, pretty, relaxing. Friendly, family atmosphere.

The only complaint I have were some fruit flies in the dining and main area.
They also keep the front entrance locked and you buzz to get back in. There are some great food spots if you don't mind walking the area and hills of the streets. If you like Victorian charm, I recommend checking out this place!
- Great staff, welcoming, helpful, diligent.
- Beautiful Christmas decors and fresh flowers. It adds a lot to the charm of this place.
- Breakfast is lovely, lots of stuff to choose from, the staff there keep the dining area very clean, really appreciate that.
- Home made cookies in three flavors, yummy!!
Cons:
- Hotel is ultimately about resting, the bed there is the WORST bed I’ve slept on in any other hotels, i felt like a ball fell into a valley once I get into that bed, it is way too sinky, I couldn’t fall asleep most of the nights and even if I do fall asleep I kelp waking up because how uncomfortable the bed was, these beds needed to be replaced years ago.
- Paper thin walls, I can hear everything from my neighbors, people passing by our room, people walking upstairs, tv noise, talking voice, I know exactly when they wake up, because I had to wake up with them, zero insulations.
- We both got bug bites while staying there.
The loud noise I can understand, because it is an historical hotel. The bed, however, is intolerable, it is the biggest issue of this lovely place.
In our 4 day stay, 2 days we didn't got any room service (Didn't hanged any card to not to disturb) and we were very much disappointed. Complained on first instance, but still we didn't got service on 4th day.
Unfortunately on 2nd day, there was a cellphone left in a ladder very near to our window and was ringing all the night, which disturbed our sleep.
Complimentary breakfast was ok and had some standard continental varieties.
We were also charged $120 for open parking for 4 nights, which I found ridiculous.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for family having kids and elderly based on my experience.
Hope they improve in future.
