GREAT STAR THEATER
This small 430-seat theater opened in 1926 where Bruce Lee's father played and is an epicenter of Asian culture in Chinatown.
It is an epicenter of Asian culture in Chinatown. This small 430-seat theater opened in 1926, where Bruce Lee's father once performed Chinese opera, and also offers cabaret, burlesque, circus, magic, ballet and film and documentary screenings. At the time of our visit, an acrobatic version of the famous drag comedy The Rocky Horror Picture Show was being performed there. Between 2022 and 2023, it will be the turn of The Empire strikes back, a Chinese opera and the SF Sktech Festival. Highly recommended!
