It's the Japanese equivalent of the great Chinese parade... For almost fifty years, San Francisco's Japantown district has been waking up to the cherry blossom season in April, to celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival. The week-long festivities feature traditional, Japanese and Japanese-American music, with the highlight being the grand parade on Sunday through Downtown to Japantown. Launched in 1967, the festival now attracts some 200,000 people. Come early to get a good seat!
