Catholic Church of the San Franciscan community next to the San Francisco Consulate celebrating a mass in French
Church built by French Catholic immigrants in 1856 during the gold rush, its architecture was inspired by that of Notre-Dame-de-Fourvière, Lyon's basilica. It was rebuilt in 1906, just after the city's devastating earthquake. The church is located in the heart of the French Quarter, next to the Consulate, and remains an important center of the San Franciscan Francophone community. Mass is celebrated here in the language of Molière.
