SAINT JOHN EVANGELIST CHURCH
Small wooden church with an original stained glass window hosting alcoholics anonymous sessions and baroque music concerts
At the corner of a graffiti-filled alleyway in the heart of Mission, you'll discover this delightful little wooden church. A porch with hanging vines welcomes the visitor before entering the garden adorned with palms and plants. Saint John's has been in existence for a century and a half and is the only church in San Francisco to have retained its original stained glass, since it was unaffected by the 1906 earthquake. Numerous evening concerts of Baroque music.
