MAIDEN LANE

Pedestrian street from 11am to 5pm with a restaurant with terrace where musicians play saxophone.
Today, the street is dotted with a shopping mall, Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint-Laurent boutiques, as well as high-end galleries. It's hard to imagine that, before the 1906 earthquake, this elegant alleyway was once the street where San Francisco's first prostitutes and transvestites worked the streets - the red light district. Musicians play the saxophone on the terrace of Mocca's restaurant, and the street is pedestrianized from 11am to 5pm every day. Unfortunately, the street has lost all of its former cachet.
