THE BEAT MUSEUM
Museum on 2 floors in a former warehouse in San Francisco with a bookstore and a small screening room in the back.
This two-storey museum is located in North Beach, the birthplace of this cultural movement in the 1950s. It is dedicated to the history of the Beat Generation. It is rather small, however. It displays memorabilia from the four ambassadors of the movement: Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Allen Ginsberg, Neal Cassady and, of course, Jack Kerouac. There's also a bookshop where you can find first editions of Big Sur and Sur la route. There's also a small film screening room at the back.

Il ne nous apprend pas grand chose. On y découvre surtout des objets qui ont appartenu aux membres de la Beat Generation : Jack Kerouak, Allen Ginsberg.
8$ pour cette visite, c'est un peu cher.
