CRISSY FIELD
A great place to walk along the bay with a picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge
Formerly a military airport since World War I, abandoned as an airport in 1974, Crissy Field has become for San Franciscans a favorite place to walk along the bay. The view from the Golden Gate Bridge is picturesque. If you feel like taking a dip in the crystal clear water in the summer, look around: no one is going for a dip. With an average temperature of 11º C, the water is freezing. So instead of swimming, you can go for a walk, fly a kite, or play soccer on the lawn.
