INA COOLBRITH PARK
Ina Donna Coolbrith Memorial Park with many steps and a view of the Bay Bridge
Park in memory of Ina Donna Coolbrith (1841-1928), the first pioneer child to enter California through the Beckwourth Pass in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in September 1852. She sponsored the arts, especially literature and poetry, and was surrounded by a prolific artistic community. At the end of the park, facing the bay, is Poets' Corner. Day or night, climb the many steps and you will arrive, often panting, at a breathtaking view of the 1936 Bay Bridge. Breathtaking!
