A time capsule was buried in 1979 with a pair of Levi's jeans, a bottle of wine and a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, former beatnik and owner of City Lights Bookstore, to be recovered in 2079! The heart of North Beach's entertainment, overlooked by the large Saints Peter and Paul Church, locals come to relax on the lawn in the sun. One can also listen to one of the many concerts that are organized there or participate in the free movie nights.
