Charming wooden staircase ideal for observing a large colony of ancient domestic birds in Telegraph Hill Gardens
If you go to Coit Tower, don't miss the famous Filbert Steps, a charming wooden staircase that descends the eastern slope of Telegraph Hill. Beautiful homes are lost in the gardens of rhododendrons, jasmine, roses, and bougainvillea. If you are lucky, you will even see wild green and red parrots in the trees. Formerly domesticated birds, they have formed a large colony and nest high up on Telegraph Hill in the Filbert Steps Hanging Gardens.
