Small alley with one of the great concentrations of murals in San Francisco
This small alleyway is home to the largest concentration of murals in San Francisco. Beginning in the mid-1980s, it was the artists' means of expression, denouncing political abuses and human rights abuses in Central America. Today, the alley is frequently transformed with new paintings, always evoking important current societal issues.
The alley can be walked (more pleasant during the day). Alone or accompanied by Precita Eyes Mural Arts guides (reservations required).
