YOSHI’S JAZZ CLUB
Yoshi's has become one of the most respected jazz venues in the world, in addition to being an excellent Japanese restaurant.
Yoshi's, named after its founder Yoshie Akiba, opened in 1972 as a small sushi bar in North Berkeley. Over the next 40 years, Yoshi's became one of the most respected jazz venues in the world, in addition to being an excellent Japanese restaurant. Today, Yoshi's is a 310-seat venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and design, all in the heart of Oakland's Jack London Square. Under the direction of current artistic director Daniel Grujic, the venue has opened up to jazz fusion.
