This rather chic restaurant with a sober decoration serves, in addition to some meats, seafood caught in a sustainable way. We recommend the fried octopus salad served with a lightly spiced vinaigrette and the coho salmon with French lentils, buttered cabbage and burnt onions. The duck confit reduced in honey isn't bad either, with its smoked chili potato cake and grilled broccolinis. On the wine side, the 2019 Chalone Chardonnay, Monterey's oldest vineyard, is very good.

Wife & I called Passionfish Restaurant on Sunday, April 7th 2024, around 10 minutes util 9pm to confirm that they were open and receptive to late arriving guests. The Restaurant was closing at 9pm. We were enthusiastically told to come on down. We were guests at the The Lodge at Pebble Beach Resorts, just a few minutes away.
We received a warm greeting and seated promptly. We extremely excited and looking forward to and exceptional dining experience. Instead, we were approached by an Abrupt, Disinterested, Dismissive and Rude Female Server. Everything about her demeanor projected that she had no interest or enthusiasm for serving us (her last table of the day). First thing I did was inquire about wines by the bottle. She simply Ignored My Questions and inquired about our food courses. We were a little taken aback by her deliberate disregard for our beverage request. After we gave her our order, I inquired again about ordering from the wines by the bottle list. To our astonishment, our Female Server abruptly stated, "I Don't Feel Comfortable Serving You Alcohol". She offered no explanation and quickly walked away from our table. We Were In Complete Shock!!! Needless to say, we felt unnecessarily Insulted and discriminated against by this Female Server's Behavior. We felt uncomfortable with the entire incident and left immediately, canceling our order on the way out. Who could eat after that?
As an interracial couple, my wife is African American and I am Caucasian, we have experienced numerous incidences of racist and disparate treatment in restaurants all over the world, but this Female Server in a Prestigious Northern California Restaurant completely caught us off guard. We were Disgusted with how we were treated at Passionfish.
I am speaking with our attorney regarding legal action that should be taken against the Business Owners of Passionfish. Behavior like this should not be tolerated or encouraged in 2024!!!
God Bless!
