KATO PAPHOS
Most touristic area. Small crowded beaches and overpriced hotels. But also magnificent archaeological sites.
Bordering the sea, the "lower Paphos" district (Κάτω Πάφος) is the city's most touristy, where the worst rubs shoulders with the best. Along the old fishing harbor and tiny crowded beaches are concentrated overpriced hotels, no-good restaurants, cafés, nightclubs, tourist agencies... But there's also the very useful main bus station, Paphos Fort, the amazing site of the Chrysopolitissa Basilica and, above all, the sumptuous archaeological site of Nea Paphos. In short, Kato Paphos is simply not to be missed.
