FABRIKA HILL
Archaeological site. Ancient quarries, catacombs, Hellenistic theater, traces of a residential quarter from the Roman period..
This small hill (Λόφος Φάμπρικας/Lofos Fabrikas, Fabrica Hill) is home to the remains of ancient Nea Paphos. These include ancient quarries, catacombs (including those at Agia Solomoni), a Hellenistic theater, traces of a residential quarter from the Roman period and the Agios Agapitikos ("Holy Beloved") cave, where the 13th-century hermit Saint Agape lived. The site has recently been excavated by the French archaeological mission in Cyprus. It can be seen from the Kato Paphos pedestrian bridge.
