PREHISTORIC VILLAGE OF LEMPA-LAKKI
Copper Age archaeological site. Foundations of 7 circular structures. Reconstruction of 5 painted dwellings.
This small archaeological site (Προϊστορικός Οικισμός Λέμπα-Λάκκοι/Proïstorikos Oikismos Lempa-Lαkki, Prehistoric Settlement Lempa-Lakkoi) houses the foundations of seven circular structures of a Chalcolithic (Copper Age) village unearthed in 1987, as well as the reconstruction of five painted dwellings. The site was occupied from 3500 B.C. and, like the other settlements on the west coast of Cyprus, was abandoned for unexplained reasons around 2400 B.C.
