Small seaside site containing the ruins of a Mycenaean city founded around 1200 B.C. Ruins of Cyclopean walls and museum.

Set on a peninsula, this small site (Αρχαιολογικός Χώρος Μάα-Παλαιόκαστρου/Archaiologikos Choros Maa-Palaiokastrou) is home to the remains of a city founded by settlers from Greece around 1200 BC, at the end of the Mycenaean era. The foundations of the walls are still visible, earning the place the name "Old Castle" (Palaiokastro). An elegant little underground museum designed by Italian architect Andrea Bruno, who specializes in the conservation of historic sites.
