FYTI WEAVING MUSEUM
Dedicated to the tradition of traditional local weaving, fytiotika, with colorful geometric motifs. Exhibition and store.
This small private museum (Μουσείο Υφαντών Φύτης/Mousio Yfanton Fytis, Fyti Weaving Museum) is located in Fyti, a village 680 m above sea level with a population of around 60. It is dedicated to the local tradition of fytiotika weaving, with its colorful geometric patterns. On site, you can visit an exhibition, watch the women at work on their looms and buy carpets made by them. Next door, the central square is home to the 19th-century Agios Demetrios church and the delightful Pefkos tavern (7-11 p.m.).
