LAC DE KANNAVIOU
9 artificial lake on the Ezousa River, near Panagia. Beautiful scenery with the Paphos forest and hiking trail.
This 9 km2 artificial lake (Λίμνη Κανναβιού/Limni Kannaviou, Kannaviou Reservoir) was created in 2006 with the construction of a 75 m-high dam on the Ezousa River. The surrounding area is empty. But the scenery is beautiful, with the Paphos forest to the north. A 25 km trail leads around the lake on foot or mountain bike. The E 703 road from Panagia runs past the dam to the village of Kannaviou (pop. 150), where you'll find restaurants and the Ezousa winery (ezousa.com).
