AGIOS ANDRONIKOS CHURCH
In the municipal park, a small church with a single nave, converted into a mosque until 1963. Frescoes uncovered.
Located in the municipal park, this small, single-nave Greek Orthodox church (Ιερός Ναός Αγίων Ανδρονίκου/Ieros Naos Agiou Andronikou) dates from the 16th century. Dedicated to the martyr Andronicus of Cilicia, who died around 304, it was transformed into a mosque until 1963 with an extension to the north. The minaret was destroyed during communal clashes, and restoration work in 1974 revealed 16th-century frescoes beneath the plasterwork, depicting scenes from the lives of Christ and the Virgin Mary, as well as the sacrifice of Abraham.
