I’ll give one star for the location - which is hard to beat in Miami - 2min walk from the beach.
Everything else is a disaster at this hotel. I’ll list just an extract of things which shouldn’t be:
- Resort fee is a scam. The narrative of “free water and free beach chairs” is ridiculous. Water is free at every Marriott hotel and should not be a privilege. The “beach chairs” is a nicely hidden scam, because the only thing included is literally a chair. For the umbrella you have to pay $25 extra. Enough said.
- The rooms are smaller than NYC’s mini apartments. To the level that it is ridiculous. You pay a super heavy nightly rate (>$400/night) and you get a 150sqft (12m2) room with a bathroom where i couldn’t even stretch my arms
- The views. Are non-existent. 90% of the rooms have one small window with a view of the next building’s wall. Like my room - see pic attached
- The old AC equipment is installed under the window and blows full force cold air onto the bed. If you don’t turn it off overnight, have fun waking up with a sore throat or a cold (worst case). Ridiculous design.
- Service for a Titanium Elite Member: non-existent. I reached out 24h in advance and asked if there are any upgrades available for my anniversary celebration. The answer was: we will try our best. I’m not angry that i got the standard room despite my effort, but the fact that nobody informed me that there are high chances i will get a small standard room with a view of a wall. They didn’t give me a chance to cancel and book another hotel with decent rooms. Simply because they didn’t care that it is a special occasion for me, and this circumstance could ruin my whole trip
- The interior does not pass any minimum standard of a typical Autograph Collection hotels. I’m astonished that this hotel was approved for the Marriott Autograph portfolio. US standards are just not what they were anymore…
I will give a small shoutout to the manager, who reached out to me at the end and offered some small compensation for the disappointing experience. Thank you, but my morals force me to be fair and open with my reviews for potential future guests…

Updated review: they charged my credit card an additional $551 and I haven’t heard back from them since my last email which was 48hrs ago.
Check your credit card and bank balances if you stay here.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! We were promptly greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm that it lifted our spirits - it had been uncharacteristically rainy. My mate was handed champagne and she said it was divine.
The room had a gorgeous nod to art deco, the bed was beyond cozy, the pillows are what my dreams are made of. The hot water is endless and the amenities are top notch!
The beach is a short stroll across the street and your reservation secures lounge chairs which is divine. The beach itself felt more public than we desired but honestly, it was great.
The restaurant at the base was wonderful and the servers were very sweet!
The wifi is a bit dodgy but you should be at the beach anyways ◡̈ 10/10 would go back in a moments notice!

Would give it 3.5
Solo traveler and I felt safe
Pros:
Staff was phenomenal. Cant compliment them enough.
Location is steps from the beach.
Some beach amenities like towels, water, etc are provided.
Rooms are cleans
Cons:
WiFi was terrible. Would not recommend for a work vacation.
The elevator does not require a key to use. Assuming it’s closely monitored by staff but I usually appreciate the extra security level.
No pool or gym on property.
Coffee was not restocked everyday.
TLDR: solid stay on the beach, but not up to marriot standards.

Awful service. Waiting over 2 hours to get the room .Rooms are very small and nothing modern about it. Not worth the money at all.

Being a flagged hotel (Marriott) charging $400 a night, there is no excuse for the rooms to not have streaming / Netflix / YouTube / etc…. Ownership should be embarrassed.
Also, bathrooms in disrepair… location isn’t bad but hotel is in desperate need of a PIP.

Loved it here for the spring break. Very convenient location. Close to the beach, shops, waljs, restaurants and everything. Their service and hospitality are great. Room can be small not luxurious but they come change towels, untuck the bed, do little fixings by adding little charms. Recommended for Spring break. Thank you. We had a great stay.

Be Aware: Winter Haven’s Valet takes more than an hour to get your car to you! Although the valet guy is nice and friendly, but I almost miss my flight. I used them for 2 days and 2 nights. Every time is the same thing. I have to sit and wait for over an hour. There is no way to contact them. You can only send a request on the app.

This is a phenomenal hotel! It's oceanfront & the food is delicious! The rates are pricy, but you get a 5 star experience! The beds are so comfortable!!!

Staff is awful. Never ever stay at this hotel. Read the other reviews. Marriott should delete this hotel from their chain.

Nice location and staff was friendly. Bathrooms are tiny (no place to put anything) and not very well maintained. Restaurant side work station in full view of guests. Resort fee is high and of little value. Would not honor late checkout even though app approved it based on status.

It's South Beach! Great classic Neo Hotel. Walk out the front door and you're on Ocean Blvd.
Front desk staff (Christina) was very welcoming and made sure our stay for New Years Eve was painless.
Jonathan as Valet went above the call when he parked my 2500HD truck. Super helpful with all kinds of information too.
Make sure to plan reservations or arrive early for a table outside. Things are very European with service so tip as a European if the service meets the point. The owners are always floating around to make sure things are right.
Would gladly stay again!

Beautiful Hotel! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s

Great, friendly, helpful staff and the location is perfect. Would have given 5 stars but the hotel bar was totally chaotic - the barman is probably OK at tourist frozen concoctions but no idea what a dry Martini was, limited bar stock and just seemed to be a gathering place for staff in the evening. Don't be put off - I highly recommend it.

In conclusione soggiorno insoddisfacente.

Really great time. Charming rooms on the beach with a great restaurant on the first floor! There is also a lot to explore in the area!
The room is small but that was not an issue since there is so much to do outside ! Only issue was the noise outside every morning very early (6:30)
The location et great obviously, the valet parking is super convenient and not expensive (not as I would expect in a big city).
Again we want to recognize the phenomenal staff of this hotel.
