People were great, friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra to help. Location was midway between Miami and Naples, 1 hour to either city, good to be away from cities, but long trip for supplies. Need to plan ahead with necessities, my first time doing camping nationwide and loving ❤️ it. This is a great campground.

A small number of RV sites that can accommodate only smaller RVs. Electric only on sites, water and dump station available on property. Friendly staff. Messy trees over the sites. Very remote but safe. A very unique experience!

Tom's hospitality at Midway Camp Grounds truly made our experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with warmth and ensured we felt welcomed throughout our visit. His attention to detail which includes making sure we were aware of the rules and willingness to accommodate our needs made us feel like valued guests.
I usually don’t leave reviews but wanted to make sure Tom is recognized for going above and beyond after watching him interact with noisy and obnoxious campers
We're grateful for Tom's exceptional hospitality and look forward to returning soon!

Nice electric only RV campsite. At the campsites, there is no water or sewer hookups. Also cell service goes from 1 bar to 0 bars.

Good to come here to get away from it all.

The shady sites are sites 17 and higher since they have trees of enough size to shade the site

There is a bathroom on the campground with urinals and one stall, no showers.

There is a dump station and a separate potable water station, so fill up on fresh water before backing into your RV site.

The camp hosts are very nice and personable and visibly make their rounds around the park.

Did not see any alligators or fish bigger than 5 inches in the pond, but either or both could be in there!

Recommend that you use as little external light as possible since many bugs will be attracted to the light (we were here in March 2024). Only a few mosquitoes or noseeums, but still stayed in screened in tents or in RV after sunset. Lots of dragon flies. Yay!

Beautiful, quiet spot. Only disappoint is there are no showers are this Campground. The bathrooms were always clean and never busy. They do have water fill Station and dump station. Plenty of space for our 35ft 5th wheel. Hosts were amazing. We enjoyed a free Canoe trip provided by the rangers but you have to sign up at the welcome center. This trip books up fast so call before you plan to stay.

Was greeted by friendly park staff and a a glorious peaceful visit. We brought a tent, firewood and our doggos for a one night primitive visit

The grounds were well maintained and the restroom was more than adequate

All the campers were respectful, friendly and quiet throughout the night

Tent sites are close to bathroom. Some have a small shelter that a hammock can hang on. Bathroom has running water sinks and toilets. A handicapped extra large stall available with its own sink. Great view of the sky for star gazing. Pond makes for excellent sunrise and sunset pictures. Well maintained grass surrounding all the sites. Check in with the host a the very front when you pull in. Our host was very friendly and came up to our car as we first pulled in. No guessing as to where to go.

Nice campground. Small, but nicely maintained and clean bathrooms. No water hookups and no shower but that is announced when you book. Close to Shark Valley Visitor center for the Everglades.

We've camped there many times and never experienced anything like the current host there on 02/16/2024, they have nasty attitude and demeanor, one goes around knocking on camper doors for no good reason like overeager to show unnecessary boot camp type authority and they like to play dangerous game calling police on campers for no good reason, they called the police on a group of bikers for making noise which was not true as they were close to our site we did not see them making noise, and host told the police other campers complained which was also not true so situation got tense Fryday night until we started talking to each other and realized the host is the cause of the problem not to mention the waste of public resources making law enforcement go out there for no good reason. Also, this one guy acts like a traffic cop directing traffic that doesn't exist... Yes thanks for nothing Tom you're a real gem.

Midway has been our little paradise getaway for years but our recent outing to Midway in February 2024 was very unpleasant to say the least as the current host are not nice people, they are obnoxiously intrusive and overbearing, one of the guys constantly walking around with a clipboard looking for someone to mess with even knocking on camper's doors. Needless to say, I will not go there until these totalitarian clowns are gone.

Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you plan on staying awake past 10pm. They’re very strict about having lights out at that time. Person in charge was very rude and told my group to leave if we want to enjoy ourselves past their bed time. Stay away if you wish to enjoy yourself on your trip.

Minimal phone service, everything else was incredible. This is a dark sky spot with lots of stars. Lake views & friendly staff.

Nice campground with electric hookups. Bring what you need, campground is in the middle of nowhere.

RV and tent camping here, only about 25 spots. Quiet. Enjoying it.

Clean and pleasant campground, ideal for an overnight stay before your Everglades National Park canoe adventure. However, it's worth mentioning that despite its name, Tamiami Trail is a busy road and can get quite noisy, even at night.

I have stopped her several times on the way to the keys, Everglades, east coast. It’s a nice, well kept campground with electricity. The hosts are so helpful, one even turned me on to a meteor shower this morning. Caught a photo of one.

Nice size campsite with picnic table and fire ring. You are right near 41 in the tent area though (I was spot 32), so you can hear traffic going constantly, and all night. Also seems to be in an airplane traffic route as you will see lots of planes coming and going. We like to cook on charcoal in the fire pit and this was more difficult than most places. The fire rings are deep! This made cooking everything take a lot more time, so either plan for it or bring another way to cook. Bathrooms were fine, flush toilets and sinks to wash hands. No utility sink here and no showers. Camp host was on site each time we came in which was nice.

What a great park for dark sky star viewing. You can see the lights from Miami but none the less spectacular views! Google shows this as 'hotel' it's a federal government park.

Is great place to camp for a couple nights in the middle of the everglades.
Absolutely no light pollution. One of the best views in the country of the night sky on a clear night.

Nice little spot along alligator alley - close to Shark Valley and numerous visitor centers and airboat rides in the Big Cypress / Everglades area. Sites are level, tarred, and picnic table are on cement pads. Nice green lawn all around, but very few trees and shade. All sites are electric only, but there is a dump station and potable water on site. Cell service is sketchy to non-existent, but a few minutes up or down the road your are connected. A beautiful peaceful spot in the heart of the Cypress Preserve.
