SANIBEL LIGHTHOUSE
Large nature reserve with a white sandy beach ideal to see dolphins or to fish from the pontoon
Who hasn't taken a picture of the lighthouse while passing through Sanibel? The monument dates back to 1884, when the island was only a large nature reserve, and marks the entrance to San Carlos Bay. It is truly original with its 30-meter high metallic silhouette, painted in brown. It is still operational today. The adjoining park allows you to stroll through the lush vegetation, to enjoy a white sandy beach where you can sometimes see dolphins, or to fish in the bay from a pontoon.
