When we first check in and got to our room our “ocean view” was not really giant brick wall in the way and a shared balcony and on top of that there was an annoying parking dog. Thankfully the hotel staff did move our room to the 5th floor but when we got back from dinner guess what?! Barking yapping dog next door we listen to it non stop before we had to go complain they said they would send security… I don’t think they ever did because we heard it all night. Then we woke up to the yapping dog again and decided to go talk to the front again we thankfully got to talk to the young lady who help us the first time and this time called the owners and had security go up there she did let us know they were checking out the following day which was a relief! But I wil say we didn’t hear the dog afterwards.
The hotel is not very clean either and is in need of a desperate upgrade the carpet our horrible the windows and elevators were dirty the furniture in our rooms were just terrible as well very worn and scratched up /‘d the light wouldn’t stop flickering. I will definitely never stay here again and still annoyed I had to pay a resort fee to not even us the dang amenities or get to just relax.
Good staff
Check in: front desk not friendly enough, poker face, no greets, no clear direction to elevator
Room: third bed feels crash, called for replacement mattress, delivered in15mins, feels the same ,slaps springs in mattress.
Check out: no express check out, long walk to front desk, charged regular price on valet parking, no discount for handicap, no smile, no thank you, no greeting words.
Pick up car: waiting 55 mins to receive car, also no greeting words, no apology for waiting even all people received car already behind me.
Worst experience ever in my traveling history! Not going to recommend and never be back again!
It is an old hotel at a great location on the Daytona boardwalk. The pool deck was recently redone, but the old pool towels are so thread bare that it feels like sandpaper. Not luxurious at all. People are putting their belongings on available chairs and are leaving. There are not enough lounge chairs. Why not remove belongings if people are not using the chairs?? Especially the daybeds. The pool in the south tower is not nice at all, it overlooks a parking structure. The north tower pool is much nicer and overlooking the ocean. The parking costs $30 per day and it’s not onsite. You have to cross the street and park in a sketchy unsecured lot. This is not a typical Hilton property. We had a nice ocean view but the windows were filthy!! We really didn’t like staying here. We ended up checking out early and going to stay at a nicer hotel. We didn’t care that the rates were already pre-paid.
It was a little daunting at first when we arrived—the line was down the block! When we finally arrived at the valet, they were in great spirits and explained that this type of arrival is the Norm for them on Fridays! Crazy!
Then we checked in, and Andrea did a super job. She helped get a second room for our girls on the same floor! Amazing!
Then our Bellman, Shane, super infectious smile. Super helpful!
We got the Oceanfront Jr Suite, which is sweet, huge, and comfy. It has amazing views! Bring your pillows if you can; Hilton has lousy pillows. Everything else was great!
When we made the initial reservation over the phone, we asked about the hotel's restaurants and places in the area. The person on the phone told us we didn't need reservations at one particular restaurant, Hyde Park. Later that day, we tried getting in, and they were completely booked. They said they were NOT related to the hotel. We walked over to Don Rico, and it was delicious! Service again was excellent, and the food did not disappoint.
We love to walk around, and Daytona has a lot of places to walk to, and this Hotel is super close to it ALL.
At the beach, there are NO HOTEL CHAIRS. We had to pay an outside vendor $50 for two chairs and one umbrella for the day.
On the last day, we met Chris, our bellman, as we left. He was kind and funny and told us about another beach we should check out called Flagler Beach, and we did.
Our overall stay was great! One thing that went wrong was the elevators; of the four, three were OUT. But only for a short time. It didn't affect our stay.
We will go back again soon!
- the flat iron stained my white shirt, permanently!
- shower curtain and shower vents have mold
- bathroom sink clogs!
- carpets raise dust as soon as you set your luggage down on the floor! (Spent all night sneezing!)
- you cannot adjust the thermostat regardless curtains open or closed. I was told they need to be closed…
- $40/day valet parking! There is a $10 public parking garage across the street!
- bed sinks in like no other bed I’ve laid on.
- furniture super old and out dated
- tv does not work. All channels glitch!
I WAS BOOWN AWAY WHEN I WENT TO BUY 4 BOTTLES OF WATER AND MY TOTAL WAS OVER $30 in the Starbucks shop that they have in this property! $7.50 per bottle!?
Overall the staff is nice/professional especially at the Hyde’s park restaurant. They will all try their best to address the inconveniences but due to the properties conditions and lack of investment they can only do so much. This by far is certainly one of the most uncomfortable stays. Especially while traveling with my family. Wasting my time writing this review to help other families avoid this discomfort and inconvenience
