One hour from Nairobi, on the Nanyuki road and about 3 km before Sagana town, Savage Wilderness Camp is the starting point for sporting adventures on the Tana River (the longest river in Kenya). Rafting or canoeing, you can spend a day there from Nairobi for about Ksh 8,000 per person, all inclusive (transport to and from the camp, equipment, lunch), if you go through the agency. It is also possible to sleep on site. The camp has 14 cottages and a camping area on a large, peaceful estate by the river.
