RALLYE SAFARI
Popular annual World Rally Championship event between Elmenteita and Hell's Gate.
The Safari Rally is a worldwide event inaugurated in 1953. Reinstated in the world championship in 2021, it takes place every March on the Naïvasha and Elementeita plains. This is the only round of the championship to take place on the African continent. Competitors, who include some of the best-known names in the sport, make their way through dirt, sand and sometimes even zebras and giraffes to reach the entrance to Hells Gate Park. Considered the world's toughest rally, it's a truly popular event.
