VISITE DU PARC DE NAKURU
A visit to Nakuru, with its well-maintained dirt tracks, offers an opportunity to see leopards,...
Nakuru can be visited in a day. It's easy to get your bearings (one main track circles the lake), and the tracks are generally in good condition. The only danger is getting stuck in the mud if you drive too close to the shore. The crust of earth hides a sticky mud, so don't get too close to the water or follow the existing tracks. The north side of the park, around the main entrance, is covered in dense forest, where you can spot leopards slouching on branches and the occasional lion. A number of small trails allow you to approach the lake and admire the thousands of pink flamingos and pelicans. On the western shore, Baboon Cliff stretches to the southern end of the park. This impressive cliff is home to baboons and rock damsons. A trail leads to the summit. The view of the lake from the top of the cliff is absolutely magnificent. Continuing further south, the vegetation becomes sparser and you enter a veritable savannah planted with acacias. This is where you're most likely to see giraffes, lions and one of the park's many rhinos. At the far end of the park, on the edge of a small clearing, lies Makalia Falls. This pretty waterfall, which falls from the top of a cliff into a small pool, attracts many herbivores. Then, as you walk up the eastern shore of the lake, you pass an extraordinary forest of candelabra euphorbia, before reaching the main entrance.

En un seul safari, nous avons réussi à voir trois des Big Five : des buffles, des rhinocéros et des lions.
Et bien d'autres animaux : zèbres, pélicans, flamants roses, girafes...
