NYOTA OBSERVATORY

The Nyota Observatory is located near Lake Baringo, at an altitude of 1,000 m, at Tumbili Cliff Lodge, about 200 km north of Nairobi. In particular, it has a very recent 355 mm diameter telescope capable of capturing beautiful images of objects in the southern sky. To benefit from it, it is essential to go through a tour operator, the Kenyan company Melting Pot Safaris (which has an office in France, open from 10am to 7pm), which organizes stays and courses combining the discovery of local fauna (through various safaris and ornithological outings) and night observations under the coordination and precious advice of the amateur astronomer Olivier Sauzereau.
