Crater of extinct volcano, the most important with its size of 12 km in diameter, offering a view on the lakes Nakuru and Baringo
It is the largest crater in Kenya (12 km in diameter) and the second largest in Africa after N'gorongoro in Tanzania. It is an extinct volcano crater. It is advisable to reach the summit by car, otherwise you can expect a 2 hour walk (without much interest, prefer Longonot for a nice walk) before reaching the edge of the crater. The immensity of the space that unfolds before your eyes is truly amazing. The view of Lake Nakuru and Lake Baringo is sublime. Camping is not recommended.
