The Lufthansa Group's new low-cost airline, Eurowings Discover, inaugurated its first route between Frankfurt and Mombasa, then Zanzibar, on July 25, 2021, using an Airbus A330-200. There will be a minimum of two flights a week, departing from Frankfurt on Wednesdays and Saturdays, arriving in Mombasa-Moi at 5.10 a.m. the following day, followed by a 7 a.m. flight to Zanzibar-Abeid Amani Karume. Return flights leave Tanzania on Thursday and Sunday at 8.50am, then Kenya at 11am, landing in Frankfurt at 6.40pm. A second base in Munich is planned.
