Mombasa railway station is located in the west of the city, next to the airport. The Madaraka Express departs daily from Mombasa at 8am for the intercounty, and 3pm and 10pm for the non-stop express to Nairobi. The trains are extremely punctual. In the other direction, trains leave Nairobi at exactly the same times. It is advisable to arrive at the station at least one hour before and to book at the ticket office or online at least one week in advance. For greater comfort, choose first class. Adult tickets cost Ksh 4,500.
