The cultural festival takes place in Lamu's old town, with the main aim of promoting Swahili culture.

Held every year at the end of November, the Lamu Cultural Festival takes place in the old town. On the program: dance shows, theatrical performances, a multitude of local arts and crafts stalls, culinary discoveries, as well as folkloric dhow and donkey races. All with one main objective: to promote Swahili culture. Indeed, Lamu is one of the most emblematic Swahili cities, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
