Great location and great property

Wir haben unser Honeymoon im wunderschönen Raffles Hotel verbracht. Den Service hätte man sich nicht besser vorstellen können, jeder Wunsch hätte in Erfüllung gehen können. Dank unserer Ansprechpartnerin Danielle wurden Kleinigkeiten schnell geregelt. Das Honeymoon-Paket mit einem Guthaben, einer Massage und Champagner waren eine tolle Geste! Das Hotel hat eine eigene Schildkrötenfarm, was einfach unglaublich toll ist.Es gibt nur Kleinigkeiten, die wir bemängeln würden. Auch wenn wir À-la-carte-Restaurants vorziehen, wäre zwischendurch ein Buffet-Restaurant ganz nett, damit man insbesondere auch als nicht Fischesser eine größere Auswahl hat. Im eigenen Pool sind einige Fliesen schon abgefallen und die Outdoor-Dusche ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Obwohl zweimal täglich das Housekeeping kam, hatten wir leider immer mal wieder Ameisen, die unvermeidbar sind. Trotzdem war es ein total schöner Luxusurlaub, der uns einmalig in Erinnerung bleiben wird.

The resort was perfect for our Honeymoon to Praslin. As a young active American couple who appreciates resort amenities, we also like to explore independently.

Attentiveness: We truly appreciated the honeymoon welcome bath/wine which made us feel welcomed and at home at the resort. We received an upgrade to Panoramic king villa which was pure luxury. The staff was responsive and helpful for everything during our 4 day stay.

Grounds: Very beautiful and intimate with perfect size to walk around and enjoy the beaches, sunset and beautiful view of the Baie Lazare. Despite the size of the resort we were never felt to be in competition for beach chairs, pool lounges or service with other guests.

Location: This is probably what we appreciated most. We could have happily stayed and relaxed at the resort day after day at our plunge pool, but we decided to rent a car in advance to explore the island and we took the short drive to the beautiful Anse Lazio, another day we hopped a ferry from Baie Ste. Anne to La Digue for the day and had dinner in the area of Cote d'Or. If we had booked better in advance we probably would have hired Zil Air to fly to our second resort on Praslin on check-out but there was no availability to book on the day we were set to depart. Easy enough to take Air Seychelles transfers at about a quarter of cost of chopper transfer.

Rooms: The room upgrade was truly appreciated but all of their villas are epitome of romance and intimacy with outdoor shower and plunge pool with covered patio. There are insects, birds and geckos (expected in any wild jungle) so just don't leave food or food particles lying in the room, we made use of the outdoor wine fridge to keep any extra food away from native ants. *this is not a complaint, just a helpful tip for those who feel like a resort should be a bubble from the natural world.

Food: breakfast option were great and expansive. With fresh juices, coffee, omelets and multiple different cuisines. We didn't elect for the half-board, and felt like this was right decision. The Curiese resturant and creole buffet were more a value of convenience than cuisine. Happy we had a car to eat at restaurants nearby Les Lauries at Cot D'Or and Le Chevalier at Anse Lazio.

Small inconvenience: We had an issue with several extra charges on our bill for an excursion we never booked, room-service we never ordered, and absence of our Amex resort credit that we had verified on arrival. It was ultimately resolved without much hassle, but I was, on principle, offended that there were over $800 dollars of extra charges to dispute, and would have expected better diligence with book-keeping prior to leaving the invoice in our room and compelling us to visit reception for an hour on our last night. They were helpful in resolving everything, but not so apologetic. I would have been less bothered if it was regarding small extra charges or the oversight of the credit alone as I am reasonable enough to know they are accommodating several guests; but if it was my business I would have been embarrassed and overly empathetic with an apology to my customer for wasting their time with these errors.

But again the service, staff, grounds, and room far outweighed the inconvenience of clerical errors.

Words cannot express how special the team made me feel today at my Birthday breakfast. Thank you Darell for making magic and accomplishing all my desires. Even if it was last minute you made it happen. Highly recommended
