SAINT-GEORGES ROTUNDA (РОТОНДАТА РОТОНДАТА СВЕТИ)
Small church built on Roman ruins in the century, near the palace of Constantine the Great.
This small church, hemmed in between government buildings and the Sofia Balkan Palace (ex-Sheraton), is a miraculous vestige, built on 4th-century Roman ruins in the vicinity of Constantine the Great's palace. In the 16th century, during the reign of Sultan Selim I, the church was converted into a mosque, before being used as a museum after liberation in the 19th century. The walls of the small rotunda are decorated with frescoes dating from the 10th to 14th centuries.
